DictionariesOS X comes with a number of dictionaries, which (as far as I can tell) are:
You do not need to install these! However, you can download a number of dictionaries for other languages for AbiWord (see instructions for how to install these below):
InstallationYou should get a file with the extension "hash" (this may be inside a folder - if so, please ignore any other files in the folder). For example, the Catalan dictionary is downloaded as "abispell-ca-ES.ppc.zip" and the archive contains the file "catala.hash". If you are an administrator:To install a dictionary so that all users can use it, place it in this folder: /Library/Application Support/AbiSuite/dictionary If this folder does not exist, create it, or start AbiWord while logged in as an administrator. If you are not an administrator:To install a dictionary so that all only you can use it, place it in this folder: /Users/[you]/Library/Application Support/AbiSuite/dictionary (like "brazilian.hash" and "lietuviu.hash" in the screen shot below). If this folder does not exist, create it.
