Subject: spelling - default language

I installed a british.hash spelling dictionary (English-Australian) in
Abiword 0.9.4.1. It works, but I have to set the language for each new file
(I set it for Canadian English, which works fine so far). Can I make that
my default language instead of en-US? The only occurrence of en-US among
the builtins of my Abiword.profile is DocumentLocale="en-US". Should or
could this be changed at some level of the .profiles?
