My photo gallery from LinuxWorld Conference and Expo

AbiSource was in booth #1436 at LinuxWorld Conference and Expo in early March 1999. We took a whole bunch of pictures with a Sony Mavica (cool camera, BTW).

The pix are divided into multiple pages now, by day. Each page is a collection of thumbnails -- click on the thumbnail to see the full size image.

Awards

The day started off with an awards ceremony for show favorites in a number of categories. Somehow we didn't win anything. This is the last time I let anyone else run the "get out the vote" campaign!

Linus' autograph

CmdrTaco and Hemos won the award in their category by a landslide.

That's VA's Larry Augustin accepting his award.

And that would be VA's Larry Augustin accepting his other award.

Group shot. Is everyone ready yet?

All the winners. Look at all those suits!

Out and About

I spent most of the day Wednesday wandering the show floor, meeting and greeting.

The guys from egenic.com had awesome yoyos!

Cute little GNOME, eh?

Now that is one big penguin.

A box with dual Alphas? Drool.

So that's why he's called Mad Dog!

Me, Raster, and the Harley

This picture doesn't change anything. I am not a bug, I'm an Insectal American.

Got slack?

How 'bout some FreeBSD?

The nice people at Corel made me feel very welcome. ;-)

They showed me the source. And in LISP no less! Too bad the screen got washed out.

Red Hat Party

Wednesday night we went to the Red Hat party at The Bankers Club. Cool party.

This shot is me with one of the dancers.

That's me and Bob Young of Red Hat. I'm pretty sure the guy standing right behind me is Michael Tiemann of Cygnus.

It's too bad -- the camera's flash is reflecting off the smoke on the dance floor, so this is a very poor shot. Nonetheless, if you look closely, you'll see Eric Raymond dancing. Sorry this picture is so bad -- believe me, seeing it in person was priceless.

Blush.

Red Hat sprang for desserts galore. You could even feed my family on this spread.

My entourage.

A dance floor shot. Note all the cool laser logos on the ceiling.

This shot is a picture of AbiSource founder Eric Sink, in the Conga line. Eric is very glad that this picture was accidentally taken with the lens cap on. :-)

That's Federico Mena (GNOME dude) and Chris Lahey (the GO word processor).

On the right, you can see a rare glimpse of AbiSource' Mark Smith. His daughter will be so pleased. :-)
