MacFAQ: AbiWord Status on Macintosh Platforms
What is the status of AbiWord development on the various Apple Macintosh platforms?
MacOS X (native)
A native MacOS X port of AbiWord is available from our download page. MacOS X 10.2 and higher is supported.
MacOS X (with X11)
The GTK version of AbiWord should work under MacOS X using X11 as well . This requires installing some extra packages, typically found in Fink, along with X11. This is no longer the prefered way to run AbiWord on MacOS X.
MacOS 9 and below
There are no plans to support MacOS 9 or earlier versions.
