I use GNU/Linux and yes, this works.
However, the default "file type" read "Automatically detected", so
this is misleading.
Also, assuming one knows the type of the file one opens is maybe not
the best idea ?
I'm aware text "type" is not formally detectable, but why not use it
as default interpretation if detection of all known formats fails ?
