Abiword 2.4.1 crash on spell checking

Hi

I can't spell check with Abiword 2.4.1 unless the preference "spell
check as you typed" is checked in the preferences. If it's not checked,
Abiword crash when using the F7 key or using the Tool menu. I'm using a
debian distribution (etch), with a 2.6.23 kernel.
Is this a bug ? Is there anybody here who could help me ?
