The problem is that JAWS screen reader for Windows require a specific
API and a lot of money to throw at them as an entry fee to get access to
that. AbiWord is being developed by volunteer on their own time as a
hobby make it a bit hard to have access to this. It should be noted that
JAWS publisher isn't really cooperative unless you provide money as, for
example, they NEVER provided any support for Firefox, which is by far
the most popular free software on Windows these days.

For are open to any suggestions, but keep that in mind.
