Green underlines??

I haven't had occasion to open AbiWord myself for some time; but I glanced
over my wife's shoulder after helping her delete some duplicate chapters,
and renumber others -- with the GUI this time, which I hope she can
remember than a lot of linux-gibberish -- and noticed it was putting green
underlines here and there.

She says it's been doing it since about the last time I updated AbiWord
for her; she tried at first to find any explanation, and couldn't. She's
been looking, and I tried briefly, to see what it chooses; we got nowhere
with that, either. Sometimes it's whole phrases, sometimes a few letters
in the middle of a word.

It isn't a great problem for her, at least for the present, since it
doesn't affect printing; she can still put away hard copies of the latest
drafts, in case of some disaster like lightning striking her machine. (I'm
going to show her soonest how to burn everything to a CD; she's getting
beyond floppies being convenient.)

But we're almighty curious. What is it doing, and why? How do you control
it and use it?
