slow scrolling to next page?

    i'm running abiword (2.0.3, cfr.

    but had similar problems with 2.0.0) on mandrake linux 9.2 (on an older
    dell laptop) and am encountering the following annoying problem:

    when editing an document in abiword and going from one page to the next as
    a result of typing or of pressing the down arrow, scrolling is painfully
    slow (the page is redrawn pixel per pixel). page down on the other hand
    works just fine.

    is this an abiword or rather a xfree86-issue? anyone know a fix for this?
    or is this a known bug that is solved in 2.0.5?
