And other bits are Windows-only. And MacOSX-only. And
QNX-only. To be cross platform, you don't have to have
exactly the same feature set on each platform. We
strive to integrate as best as possible with the host
OS as possible and do things where they "make sense"
to do so. But we're short on time and developers,
especially in the Windows world.
>>> true enough, but the point I was trying to make was that there are no
caveats set anywhere to tell you that! If I'd found some instructions about
the command line that said "sorry, this bit isn't for windows..."
A bunch of other command line options are available,
even on Windows. For example, if you wanted to convert
DOC to HTML, you'd be able to do:
AbiWord --to=html "c:\foo.doc"

You show me how to print to a PS file from the command
line using MSWord and then I'll be impressed...
>>> given that 'command line' is/was the way to run abiword via wscript from
a web page, that is exactly what I'm doing...
>>> I'd opted for abiword based on the fact that it's a lot smaller (not any
fast though?), and appeared to offer a single line set of switches to do
what word will do via vbscript in several lines.

And using the PDF driver and printing to a file will
produce a .pdf copy.
>>> of course, but still not from the command line for windows!
If you've got complaints, write the few dozen lines of
code that it'll take to print from the command line on
Windows. If not, file a bug. We're short on Windows
developers and free time in general.

>>> sorry, love to, but I ain't got the knowledge in c++/whatever language
you work in. Mt arena is strictly web-based, asp/vbscript....
