hi there,

i have been tryign to compile abiword on a sparcv9-sun-solaris2.8
machine. the configure script bails with this warning:

No package 'xft' found
error: Library requirements (xft >= 2.0 fontconfig >= 1.0) not met

now i have installed fontconfig-2.2.0, and pkg-config is picking up on
it. but Xft2?? i thought that WAS fontconfig? where am i supposed to get
that? does it even _exist_ for Solaris? is it not an Xfree86 thing?
