I also got the illegal operation msg when trying to install AbW ver. 2
(both the public release and builds from pchasm), on a machine running
    Win95B. (Ver 1.04 non-bidi works fine.) I decided to wait until I'd
istalled Win2K to try again; but noticing that "get the latest copy of
msvcrt.dll" has popped up in the discussion, I did a search of my system. I
find that I have four versions of msvcrt.dll installed, each one coming in
during the install of one app or another. The "latest" ver. available from
    microsoft (I found it in
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/downloads/updates/sp/vs6/sp5/sp5_vb_en.aspx
) is in fact the *oldest* of the ones I see on my machine. Could a Win95
user tell me if the msvcrt.dll applicable to AbW should into
\windows\system and/or \windows\ws2bakup? And would I give myself grief if
I over-wrote all of the eaarlier version with the latest one I find on my
    disk?

Also, can I run two versions of AbW, if I don't update the directory during
install of the second version? thanks - ed
