    Good Morning Frank,

    Thanks for the response.

    I followed the instructions at:

    http://www.abisource.com/developers/download.phtml#cvs

    I assume that this gives me HEAD?

    I did not check out zlib, libpng or libiconv, which I have
    locally.

    ./configure --with-zlib=/usr/lib --with-libpng=/usr/lib
    --with-expat=/usr/lib --disable-gnome
    --enable-extra-optimization --disable-gucharmap

    config.log attached .. edited only to replace my username
    with "me" (as below), 'cos I am a cautious soul.

    Compilation aborted with exactly the same errors :

    rop::getProperty (const char[17], const char *) const'
    ../../../../src/text/ptbl/xp/pp_AttrProp.h:64: candidates
    are: bool PP_AttrProp::getProperty(const XML_Char *, const
    XML_Char *&) const <near match> make[4]: ***
    [ie_exp_RTF_listenerWriteDoc.o] Error 1 make[4]: Leaving
    directory `/home/me/abicvs/abiword/abi/src/wp/impexp/xp'
    make[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving
    directory `/home/me/abicvs/abiword/abi/src/wp/impexp'
    make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving
    directory `/home/me/abicvs/abiword/abi/src/wp' make[1]:
    *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory
    `/home/me/abicvs/abiword/abi/src' make: ***
    [all-recursive] Error 1

    I know a little C, but no C++. I am happy to do any editing
    of the sources or other tests you might find helpful.

    Regards,

    Geoff
