The problems are so minor I dont think it is even fair to call them
problems.
I have installed several copies of abiword side by side and used the same
dictionaries and profiles and other shared files for all versions without
any problems as far as I could tell.
To be extra safe you should probably install to seperate directories and
backup your "Abiword.Profile" for your older version of abiword. Even so
older versions of Abiword seem to work alright even if you do change the
Abiword.Profile using a newer version.
You might not have a seperate menu entry in the control panel for each
copy of Abiword but dont worry you can safely uninstall abiword by
deleting the contents of the Abisuite folder (and run Microsoft Regclean
if you want to clean out some of the cruft from the Registry).
No real problems at all.
You might be intersted in this thread from last week
http://abisource.com/mailinglists/abiword-user/2003/Jul/0086.html there
are virtually no reasons left to stick with the old version of abiword
except one or two plugins are not avialable for windows yet (but they will
be for 2.0).
Sincerely
Alan Horkan
