How to input 'LATIN SMALL LETTER ETH'?

Up until now I've been using Abiword 1.0.4. In this version I can
easily input the icelandic letter š, or LATIN SMALL LETTER ETH, 0x00F0,
as it is called in Unicode, by pressing the sequence
         <compose> + [-] + [d].
However, earlier today I upgraded to version 1.1.3 and now I find that I
no longer have easy access to that letter. When I try with the mentioned
key sequence, all I get is some silly 'LATIN SMALL LETTER D WITH STROKE'
    which is something entirely different.

Why the change? Is there some easy way to easily input this character?
I know about "Insert Symbol", but that is hardly convenient when
you need the symbol in every second word or so.

    Regards,
    Oskar
