Tell them to download Abiword it is free, then they wont have any
compatibility problems.
More seriously though, if you are sharing documents with someone who has
MSWord simply saving as Microsoft Word .doc should be fine.

That sounds a lot like a previous bug report i read. The user had
problems after pasting text from MS outlook.
