Hi,
I am wondering if this is actually the problem with RH distro rather than
Abiword. What fonts do you get in the fonts list in Abiword? I don't even see
Times New Roman in the font list, although I installed Abiword my self, and
install the abiword-font rpm. Curious..
The same set of installation in RH 7.3 brings everything up just fine.
Another thing that may or may not be a related problem. Do you have gnumeric
installed? If you do, please check it if it suffers from the same problem
(font spacing). My gnumeric (installed from RH distro CD) in Redhat 8.0 has
the same problem as abiword's. The problem does not appear as bad when I
choose font Times New Roman in gnumeric. It happens with other fonts though.
Is this Redhat font server problem may be? Am I correct to assume that both
gnumeric and abiword was developed using the same API (ie GTK ??) ?
