I have tried a few more times with no luck. Definitely no Abisuite anywhere,
after about 20 minutes of furious activity! I did a simple ./configure, make,
make install. The final error message seems to be: cannot find-lXi.

I can install from rpm with no trouble apart from the failure to load images due
to this libpng conflict (which I have since studied and now understand!)

    Any ideas?

    John
