I'm having the same problem as an earlier poster. When I invoke AbiWord
from Peanut Linux 9.2 I can't see fonts and only the space bar works.

I noticed that this problem was discussed in the archives and reference
was made to a backward compatibility problem with the iconv library in
glibc.

My question is a follows:

What version of glibc should I be using to make AbiWord run correctly?
