    Dear and esteemed Dom,
In very ancient times, six month ago, very friendly, you gave me
    a way to change the model saved as « normal.awt » =
    ------
    > Do not hand-edit this file. Using abiword, change your page
    > size to whatever you'd like via the File->Page Setup dialog,
    > change your style definitions using the Format->Styles dialog,
    > set the background color to grey by using Format->Background,
    > and then:
    > File->Save As /usr/local/Abisuite/templates/normal.awt
    > Not so hard :-) ~~ Dom
    ------
I was not returning on the question because I'm a great lazy old man !
But now, I've a little changed the things : I'm on a Mandrake 8.2, with
AbiWord-1.0.1 (perfect) and I would try to resolve always the same
    problem =
    - my screen displays in 1024x768 pixels
    - at opening, AbiWord shows a truncated grey background ( with un-
completed indications on the lowest toolbar ).
    - on that grey background, is shown the white page where I will be
able to write, when I will have pushed the grey backword right limit
to the right border, with as first result to obtain a complete plain white
       page.
    - well! all is correct, I am ready to write !...
In spite of my bad english is it clear ?

What I'm hoping to be able to do ?
To find somewhere the possibility (in options or in a script) to give to
AbiWord the correct instructions to induce it to give me AT OPENING,
and without I have nothing to do, a complete grey background, with
the white page complete at choiced dimensions noted in your file ;-)),
even if that opening-document is not full screen, because I like to have
possibility to click icons on the right of the abiword document...

Is it possible, Doctor, without to kill the patient ?
Is it not too hard :-) ?
    Best regards
    Bernard L.
