    If you try running Html Tidy on the document Abiword *MIGHT* be able to
    open it.

    Chances are better if you use html tidy to convert it to XHTML.

    If Abiword cannot open proper XHTML documents that have been cleaned
    by html tidy then it is a problem and please file a bug including the file
    that Abiword cannot open.
