    it happens before I save the document. Yesterday I saved a document in a
    subfolder of My documents and the .bak file is saved in Desktop. Sometimes
    I find .bak files in home folder of Abiword, and they are not a temp file.
    According to your answer I understand that it is not possible to choose a
    directory to save .bak files.
