Because most people asking those sorts of questions haven't done the basic
things that were suggested first, and it is impossible to tell from a first
email that you have. It's not *you* who isn't being given any credit, it's
"random person posting to a mailing list", an individual who, I am sure you
will agree, rarely acquits himself (almost always *him*self, alas) well.
If you don't have the buttons on the toolbar, try turning off 'Enable
Custom Toolbars' in Preferences, and see if they appear. If they don't,
that's a fairly major bug.
