Ok, Dom! I am full of respect for your great activity, and also
for your patient courtesy, which would be a good example to
follow for all of us, writing on the list!...
And I wish you will have a good Xmas time and, as wants the
tradition, I say « Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ! »
This is, evidently, addressed to all the AbiWord Team, but also
to the other AW's users of the List.

Going again on our problem, I was compiling each new AW's
version till the 1.0.3. There, impossible to obtain a correct
compilation. Why? I don't know, but my english is too poor
for an analyse of the difficulties, I don't understand!...
But I must acknowledge that, this morning, I have just
succeeded to install the 1.0.3 version with the Mandrake's
graphic installor from the RedHat "rpm"s. But I have had to
do the installation in two times, to avoid the freeze.

    1st time - (in a console)
    cd /usr/lib
    ln -s libcrypto.so.0.9.6 libcrypto.so.2
    ln -s libssl.so.0.9.6 libssl.so.2
    ln -s libpng.so.2.1.0.12 libpng.so.2
    ldconfig

    2nd time
Using the "rpminst", do installation. (Mdk's-8.2 graphic tool,
with konqueror used as file-manager, put the mouse on the
rpm-file to install and left-click => and "rpminst" is working)
The process stops, asking the three above libs, libcrypto.so.2,
libcrypto.so.2 and libssl.so.2, (why?) and here you are obliged
to "force" the installing end, for you know the libs are present.
Ok, it was good! AW is here, correctly working.
(If somebody needs one of the above libs , I will send by mail).

It remains two things I would wish:

I - a complete explanation of the AbiWord.Profile lines, with
the choices, in order to use this tool to refine the AW's screen
For example in AbiWord.Profile last section, we have a line
where you can put 935 like hereunder:
    ..........width="935"
and with these 935, if you are in definition greater than the
classic poor 800x600, for example 1024x768, at AW's opening
you will have a complete page, not cut at right part.

II - a list of script-files where we could write little modifs to
obtain more and more adaptation, because the "option"
    tool is very too poor.
Example, if you want modify "normal.awt" we need
explanations of that is possible and that is not.
I hope it is not impossible to obtain these exolanations

(Excuse my bad very poor english, but in normal time I
speak french... but maybe that will be usefull for
    somebody using Mdk-8.2.)
