OK. Try 'make UNIX_CAN_BUILD_STATIC=0'. No need to ./configure first;
that gets done for you. If that's the one that failed, try setting the
same option to 1. There seem to be oddities with which of static and
dynamic builds nicely. It might get sorted out for 1.0, but probably not
before then unless it starts to really bother a developer...
