Without knowing the innards yet, I suspect that whatever is checking the
dependencies is being too picky about the version match. Probably testing for
== instead of for >= or something like that. Anyway, this makes me think that
some kind of software is needed that periodically checks the currently
installed rpm versions against the latest version available and advises,
optionally downloading the latest versions, including dependency checking.

Yet another project (YAP), eh?
