I haven't posted much--if at all- to this list. But I have a serious
grievance.
I want to save some rtf files as txt files so I can tag them for HTML in
Emacs. However, when I save the file as txt in AbiWord, AbiWord puts in all
the junk code (pardon me, all of the helpfully intended but totally
unnecessary tags that imitate the bogus crap that Front Page puts out). Even
when I save them as text files, they get more html and css tags than the
original file had characters.
Is there any way to avoid this problem? Earlier versions of AbiWord did not
commit this assault on my intentions.
Okay, I know I'm a little hot under the collar, and I do like AbiWord and do
use it. But this has me fried, folks. I expect MicorSoft products to do this
kind of intrusive stuff, not AbiWord.
