You need to run the page through a html/xhtml validator
eg http://validator.w3c.org
http://validator.w3.org/
or download a program to do it locally
http://www.w3.org/People/Raggett/tidy/
(or for when you are using you're the non *nix operating system you
mentioned you can use a GUI version
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/ablavier/TidyGUI/ )
Some people (definately not including me) do not consider this a bug,
it makes abiword harder to use but abiword does accept standards compliant
strict xhtml (html4 == xhtml).
PS ive crossposted this to the documentation list, could some one please
add/cut&paste an section "importing html" to the documentation/faq
(so i can find this later using google)
KEYWORDS:
abiword html import, bogus document, valid, strict, tidy
