Hope it is OK to ask for some advice on bug procedures.

About a month ago I downloaded version 0.7.14-2 of the Windows Abiword.
Very impressive, but I found for myself a few bugs, registered at the
bugzilla page, an reported them (#'s 1417, 1418, 1419).

One of them (1418) to me seems quite serious - couldn't exit the Page Setup
dialogue box without crashing Abiword (on Windows 95c), and to me this
inability to be able to make changes to page setup is a major bug.

What I'm puzzled about is that bug 1418 doesn't seem to have been recognised
as being of particular interest. The bug is shown as having been submitted,
and an additional comment has been attached below it which says:-

------ Additional Comments From Drew 2001-05-11 14:27 -------

Win95 on PII 266 128RAM Abi 0.7.14

I can't reproduce this simply by hitting OK. I can reproduce the behavior
described if I choose the A4 paper size, which I believe has already been filed
as another bug, though I disremember the bug number.
----------------------------------------------------------------

Because the bug is simply tagged as being "submitted", does that mean that
it in not currently being worked on? I tried looking through the list of
open bugs, and found one (#1375) which looks as though it might possibly be
a description of the same basic bug (Changing paper size to A4 crashes app).
I'm wondering if any other Windows users have Abiword working satisfactorily
(in the Page Setup dialogue box area), suggesting that the problem is
something to do with my system.

Having looked at the list of open bugs again, I guess the answer to my
question may simply be the fact that there are 367 bugs, and maybe many of
them are more important.

Is there an official list of the present bugs which are planned to be fixed
before the issue of version 1.0?

Many thanks to all those people who are working on this great application.

Cheers, John S. (Napier, New Zealand)
