Dear Bob

I am not sure that this is the complete end of the story.
After closing and reboot I could not start again AbiWord , getting the same
message
There was an encodings.dir which was created and again fonts.dir was empty
I removed again abisuite but I was obliged to remove this encodings.dir by hand
. I reinstalled abisuite and AbiWord was OK . For How long???
There is then twice the fonts dir path as judged by xset -q

Here is the encodings.dir

There is for sure a bug somewhere....
