I don't know what's going on. I just saw something weird like this
at work, too. Hmm...
What I just did was to restore the good fonts.dir file from the abisource
RPM into /usr/share/abisource/fonts/, then ran:
# chkfontpath --remove /usr/share/abisuite/fonts
# chkfontpath --add /usr/share/abisuite/fonts
I don't know what's going on, but this should still work for you in
any case.
