Hi Piotr
Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, it didn't work - I am using Abiword on Windows98, and this modified Profile file gets overwritten by either Abiword or Windows automatically and the default file format is changed back to Abiword format - .abw
It looks like this is a new feature request then, as it appears to require a programmatical change.
Any other ideas?
