According to An-Dee <an-dee@operamail.com>:

There is currently no binary distribution of AbiWord for BeOS, simply
because there is no maintainer for that version (that is unforunate). From
time to time, we have had patches from one BeOS developer that had a few
spare cycle, patches that improved the BeOS version for a 0.9.x release (I
did commit the patches). I don't know how good the current version is but
I'm pretty sure that at his last patch, the version did build and run.

If you feel adventurous, feel free to build it. You need to either get the
0.9.5 source tarball, or grab the source from CVS (most bleeding edge). Your
mileage may vary. We are also accepting patches to fix it. Everything else
is in the documentation.

If you have specific question about the code, feel free to ask them on the
abiword-dev list.

Good luck.
