First, check which dictionaries you have installed. Have a look in
/usr/local/AbiSuite/dictionary/

If you only have american.hash, you will need to download the dictionary
tarball from Sourceforge
(http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=15518&release_id=456
23) and put the correct british.hash into that directory. The tarball is
called abispell. (At least, I think that's the one. My connection is a 56k
modem, so I haven't downloaded it to check.)

If you've got the right dictionary there, it shouldn't mark 'color'
correct. If it does, that's a bug. Go to Bugzilla
(http://bugzilla.abisource.com/) and file it.

Another thing you can do is run AbiWord from a terminal, and check for
messages about being unable to open the dictionary. If you get some, come
back and tell us, and we might be able to work out what's wrong.

Well, you could try renaming your old custom dictionary and seeing whether
that fixes the problem. It's in $HOME/.Abisuite/

It doesn't seem to be terribly reliable, though. I'm going to have to mess
with it further.
