I was not part of the actual converstion and I'm not a legal expert, but
the consensus opinion at Debian is that the QPL license, while Open Source,
isn't compatible with the GPL license. If that's really true, AbiSource
would have to modify the abisuite license to something like (and again, I'm
not a legal expert) GPL + Qt.
My suggesting is: read the two licenses. If you have legal council, ask.
Send a message to RMS, the author of the GPL, and ask him. I think someone
at Debian asked and was told they were not compatible but I don't remember
who and havn't found the message, yet.
Personally, I'd like to see the Qt port. I think the Qt look is Kewl. If
you feel you REALLY want to discuss this with me involved, email me
privately. Due to the nature of this topic in many circles...
