I cannot compile the CVS tree anymore (as of an hour ago or so) since I "upgraded" (crashed the HD) to Slackware 3.6.
I downloaded the static 0.7.0 binary, just to see what it is looking like. Well, I run a gnome environment as user torsten. I installed the static binary as root, so it would go in /usr/local/AbiSuite.
When I execute the binary as root, it works as one would expect.
When I execute the binary as torsten, I get:
bigdell:~$ AbiWord
Gtk-WARNING **: /usr/local/lib/gtk/themes/engines/libmetal.so: undefined symbol: gtk_range_draw_trough
bigdell:~$ /usr/local/AbiSuite/bin/AbiWord
Gtk-WARNING **: /usr/local/lib/gtk/themes/engines/libmetal.so: undefined symbol: gtk_range_draw_trough
bigdell:~$
Now, I'm using the "metal" theme in gnome, on top of gtk+-1.2.3. This is just a curiosity, as for now I'm happy running the binary as root, but if ya'll have any suggestions (I can code) I'll be happy to look into what the problem is.
Is it appropriate to log such a bug in bugzilla? This bug seems more to do with letting people run AbiWord rather than actual development, but maybe it hints at an underlying gnome conflict.
Anyway, excellent job.
