So apparently we've touched a sensitive issue here, one that is highly
important to inhabitants of a certain region but amusing at best to
outsiders. The present discussion reminds me of discussions with
Chinese translators once Tibet came into play.
Let me just say that the language people want to speak or write is not
dictated by research institutes or the ISO committee, but by the
people themselves. Sure it would be useful to have some kind of ISO
code for a newly added language, but refusing to include it based on
fear it will create some kind of legitimacy for a dialect that some
people don't think should exist, is just bare nonsense and against
Free Software spirit.
