    I'm not sure how the libraries separate, but I would think that most
    people with GTK+ installed on their systems also either have, or have
    access to the GNOME libraries, even if they don't use GNOME itself.

    Case in point: a [helluva] lot of people use Evolution under KDE, it's a
    seriously GNOME based app, but you don't have to use it under GNOME by
    any means.
