I stored it as doc and as rtf and tried both versions with abiword which worked though footnotes and colors etc. were lost. I stored the documents as abw documents but was not able to reload them because abiword said they are "not valid". I posted this bug already. I append the both versions for testing.

You will see that the document is not well formatted. I then tried to correct the formatting and found out the bug 5420. I also found out that StarOffice 5.1 has a history function like Word for Windows. And the history of the sdw document was converted to the doc document. But abiword cannot read the history stuff correctly but displays it at the end of the document and in blue. I already deleted that stuff I think. So you will not find it. You may check for it.

The </> were plain black and the tag names were formatted in red. In the XHTML document the < is still black but the /> is as red as the tag name. Have a look at that.

HI Dennis,
Thanks very much for the document. I see the bug and have
created a smaller test case to isolate the incorrect behaviour. I will
make it a priority to fix the bug in the non-WYSIWYG layout.

Cheers
