This works perfectly in AbiWord. You'll have to have
the fonts set up and working for the languages you
need. Preferably TTF fonts. This can be tricky if
you haven't already done it but AbiWord has docs to
    help you get it done.

When opening a HTML document to edit the HTML you'll
want to open it with the "Plain Text" or "Encoded
Text" importers - otherwise you'll see the HTML
formatting instead of the HTML code! If you start
from a new document, make sure you save as "Encoded
Text" and select UTF-8 from the encoding dialog.

Let us know if you have any problems.
