Windows 2000 (and probably XP too) comes with ttf
fonts including Devanagari and most of the other
Indian scripts. I'm not sure if you can download
them free though. You might want to check out Pango's
website too since they've been working on complex
script support so they must be testing with some font
or other.
Also, I can't recall for sure but I have a hunch that
the free TTF font Code2000 has Indian characters.
Do a Google search.
Don't expect AbiWord to render these languages very
well yet though but it's probably worth somebody
giving it a go and starting to file bug reports so we
know what we're up against in the long run...
