I agree. We need a few more direct access functions. They're not hard to
write though. I can do it in a few hours max. They're especially
easy if we go to enumerated document properties. Assembling lists
of const chars is a real pain. (Famous last words :-)

Do you know much about ActiveX Mike? I would love to have a xp embeddable
interface for Abi. Dom, Joaquin and I have been looking to make Abi an
embeddable component for the gnome front end but it would great if we
could come up with an xp interface.

I suggest we leave this stuff for post 1.0 which is fast approaching :-)

Well I hope the reason behind that gets told properly someday.
I don't think it has much to do with lack of talent.

Still we've gone a few steps beyond their vision for 1.0 in a number of
places :-)
