Introduction

This is the official, or atleast only, RefDef page for AbiSource, or atleast the AWN.   The purpose of this page is to act as an alphabeticly-organised, index-style glossary page, explaining commonly used, or atleast used, terms/people/events or whatever else comes to mind.   The most well known example would be the ever massive Jargon File maintained by Eric Raymond.   Please note that this is pretty much a living document that could be updated the moment someone asks, “What's a $referenced-item?”

To give you an idea of how to use the refdef page, I'm going to give you an example.   Let's say you wanted to know what refdef meant.   Right now, working in this example, you just need to add #refdef to the end of the url in your browser.   The design of the page is to make it possible to seek out single word terms that brought you here in the first place.   Try it!

refdef
1: References and Definitions ( AWN and RefDef ):
A page containing an alphabeticly-organised, index-styled glossary in relation to a specific subject.

  • AbiWord II: The Wrath of Dom; ( AWN#103:cvs )   Based on a comment made by Marc Maurer and inspired by the Star Trek movie Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn, this version was un-intentionally prenamed for the first release of the 2.0 series, 2.0.0.
  • AbiWord 2.2: Woven Acid Trip; ( AWN#155:discussions:developers )   Inspired by AbiWord II: The Wrath of Dom background this came from an abstraction of a name that was twisted out of the scene in the referred to Star Trek film where Chekov realises the significance of the abandoned vessle they have found.   It is even more twisted by inspiration of the source of the name Criawips.

Changes

For the likes of me, I really thought news.abisource.com was implemented by now.   $20 has informed that it has not.   I suppose I take idle chatter way too seriously.

Hey, it's just here for further development.   You'll notice there are unused bits to make it easier to expand.   Generic AWN pointers will be fixed to the latest occurrence...when they occur.
